Tabitha Link and her Master Studio Ally, Gary Carstens, traveled to Dodgeville, Wisconsin this past weekend to fire clay pieces they have been working on together. Roughly 100 pieces were fired all together in a high fire propane kiln, with 20 of those belonging to Tabitha. The firing itself took 13 hours and was done at the Bethel Horizons Church with Art Ventures. Tabitha helped to load, fire and unload the pieces.
This won’t be the last time Tabitha and Gary work together during a kiln firing. On April 13th they will travel to Dodgeville again to fire with a major wood kiln. Unlike this past weekend, the kiln is much larger and will take two days to load and a full week to fire. Tabitha is working hard on creating a large piece to put in the wood fire kiln.
Gary and Tabitha have been working together in the Master Studio program for the last few months and as you can see from the photos, are having a great time! Take a look at some of the great shots Gary took from the firing!
